Into the Studio

November 2, 2018

This Summer and Fall, I worked on two new instrumental pieces and a cover song, recording them with Mikal Blue — producer, songwriter, engineer, and mixer best known for his work with Colbie Caillat and Five For Fighting.

I have to admit, my previous recordings were done in a home studio (yes, that meant recording vocals in a closet!).  Sure, recording and mixing on a Mac is cool. But a real studio was something else!

Everyone at Revolver Recordings studio was fantastic.

Something Else

January 1, 2015

Sophia’s second collection, Something Else, includes new piano solos and shows Sophia exploring more artistic range, singing three heartfelt songs she’s composed.

  • Alone (I Found You) is about finding and losing someone special.
  • All Around the World is a lively piece inspired by the joys and surprises of traveling.
  • Clouds is a touching song about the memories of a cherished pet
  • Zoo is inspired by the play of animals from polar bears to butterflies
  • Time reminds us to enjoy the moments of tranquility between the rush of life
  • Deep Love expresses how we all feel sometimes about those we love

MP3’s available on iTunes, Amazon MP3, CD Baby and elsewhere.

Companion Pieces

November 4, 2010

Sophia Roberts-TaraSophia’s first EP.   At the time, she was a 10-year old elementary student from California. Sophia started playing piano at age 6 and began composing at seven. She also has a love for animals and is inspired by them to compose her music.

Jenna and White Rabbit reminisce on Sophia’s first pet rabbit, a white English Spot, which died unexpectedly after only 2 months.

Silent Morning creates new memories from her second pet rabbit, a beautiful grey Lionhead.

And Chinese Warrior is inspired by the behavior of Sophia’s other favorite, cats.

MP3’s available on iTunes, Amazon MP3, CD Baby and on streaming services.
