This Summer and Fall, I worked on two new instrumental pieces and a cover song, recording them with Mikal Blue — producer, songwriter, engineer, and mixer best known for his work with Colbie Caillat and Five For Fighting.
I have to admit, my previous recordings were done in a home studio (yes, that meant recording vocals in a closet!). Sure, recording and mixing on a Mac is cool. But a real studio was something else!
Everyone at Revolver Recordings studio was fantastic.
Sophia released two new instrumental pieces, Winter’s Tale and Coming of Age.
Winter’s Tale is a delicate track evokes a peaceful walk in the winter woods.
Coming of Age is an instrumental piano piece of minimal energies, but limitless effect.
Sophia’s second collection, Something Else, includes new piano solos and shows Sophia exploring more artistic range, singing three heartfelt songs she’s composed.
Sophia’s first EP. At the time, she was a 10-year old elementary student from California. Sophia started playing piano at age 6 and began composing at seven. She also has a love for animals and is inspired by them to compose her music.
Jenna and White Rabbit reminisce on Sophia’s first pet rabbit, a white English Spot, which died unexpectedly after only 2 months.
Silent Morning creates new memories from her second pet rabbit, a beautiful grey Lionhead.
And Chinese Warrior is inspired by the behavior of Sophia’s other favorite, cats.
